I understand my $300 Waitlist Fee is nonrefundable and will be applied toward the purchase price of my chosen puppy. This reservation is valid for 2 years from the date submitted.

Puppy Selection Deposit

#2 *Once you've selected a puppy, this deposit holds your puppy until it is ready to come home and applies to your total balance.

Deposit to Hold Puppy Until Pickup Age

A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a selected puppy with the intent to purchase. This deposit reserves the puppy until the puppy reaches 8 weeks of age, which is when puppies are typically ready to go home.

Final Payment Deadline

The remaining balance is due as follows:If the puppy will be picked up in person at 8 weeks of age:The remaining balance is due at pickup.If the puppy is not being picked up in person or will be picked up after 8 weeks of age:The remaining balance is due no later than when the puppy reaches 7 weeks of age.If the balance is not paid in full by the deadline listed, the deposit will be forfeited and the puppy will be made available to another family.

Deposit Transfer Policy

If Buyer decides they no longer want the selected puppy for any reason, Buyer must notify Boxwood Doodles no later than when the puppy reaches 6 weeks of age. In that case, the deposit may be transferred to a future litter 1 time.Deposits may not be transferred if Buyer fails to communicate or misses the required notification deadline.

Refund Policy

The deposit will only be refunded if:The puppy becomes too ill to be sold, orThe puppy passes away prior to going homeIf either of these occur, Buyer may choose either:A full refund of the deposit, orTransfer of the deposit toward another available puppy

Seller’s Right to Refuse Sale

Boxwood Doodles reserves the right to void this transaction and refund the deposit if Seller learns Buyer may not be a suitable home for the puppy, including but not limited to dishonesty, animal abuse, violence, representation of a pet store, broker, or research facility, or any other circumstance that could compromise the puppy’s safety and welfare.

Pet Only / No Breeding Agreement

This puppy/dog is being purchased as a companion pet only and is not to be bred.

Agreement and Jurisdiction

By signing below, Buyer states that they have read and fully understand this Deposit Agreement and agree to all terms.This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, and venue for any legal action shall be in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana.

Health Guarantee & Sales Agreement

We love our dogs deeply and want every puppy to have a safe, healthy, lifelong home. This agreement is designed to protect both BUYER and BREEDER by clearly explaining expectations, health guarantees, and what to do if a health issue ever arises. Our goal is always to support our puppy families while also protecting the integrity of our breeding program.

This contract is between BUYER as listed below and Boxwood Doodles LLC referred to as BREEDER.


1.     BREEDER REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES

Health at Time of Sale and Initial Veterinary Exam

BREEDER represents that the Dog is in good health and free of communicable diseases (including, but not limited to, parvo and distemper) at the time of sale.BUYER agrees to have the Dog examined by a licensed veterinarian within 7 business days of pick-up, at BUYER’s expense. This initial health guarantee is void if the Dog is not examined within that time frame.If the Dog fails this exam, BUYER may return the Dog to BREEDER, along with a written statement from the veterinarian, for a replacement Dog of equal value within 18 months.If BUYER chooses to keep the Dog, BREEDER will not replace the Dog and all medical care and expenses become the sole responsibility of BUYER.a.     Second OpinionIf a hereditary defect is suspected within the 7-day period and it clinically impacts the Dog’s quality of life (excluding dental conditions), BREEDER may request a second opinion by a veterinarian or canine specialist of BREEDER’s choice. This may be local or via telemedicine/distance medicine. BREEDER will cover the cost of the second opinion.b.     Death of Dog / Necropsy RequirementIf the Dog dies of unknown causes, no replacement or compensation will be provided without:

  1. A necropsy, and

  2. Release of all veterinary records to BREEDER.

Necropsy costs will be paid by BREEDER. If records show death resulted from neglect or negligence, no replacement or compensation will be provided. Serious Illness Reporting RequirementAny signs of serious illness (including lethargy, refusal to eat or drink, vomiting, diarrhea especially with blood and/or mucus) must be reported to BUYER’s veterinarian immediately and reported to BREEDER within 24 hours.


2.      Genetic Testing Guarantee (Testable Disorders)BREEDER guarantees the Dog is clear of the following testable genetic disorders, effective from the Dog’s date of birth.a.     Bernedoodle: Type I von Willebrand’s Disease (vWD), Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA-prcd), GM2 Gangliosidosis (GM2), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM – SOD1A and SOD1B), Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NeWS), MDR1, Osteochondrodysplasia.b.      Australian Mountain Doodle: MDR1, Type I von Willebrand’s Disease (vWD), Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA-prcd), Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Day Blindness, CMR1, Hereditary Cataracts, Hyperuricosuria (HUU), NCL6, CLN8, GM2, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM – SOD1A and SOD1B), CMO, JEB, Osteochondrodysplasia.c.      Cavapoo: Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome (CKCSID), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM – SOD1A), Episodic Falling Syndrome (EFS), Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NeWS), Progressive Retinal Atrophy (prcd), von Willebrand’s Disease Type 1 (vWD1)d.     Pocket Bernedoodle: Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome (CKCSID), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Episodic Falling Syndrome (EFS), Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NeWS), Progressive Retinal Atrophy (prcd), Type I von Willebrand’s Disease (vWD), GM2 Gangliosidosis (GM2), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM – SOD1A and SOD1B), MDR1, Osteochondrodysplasia.


3.      2-Year Genetic Warranty and Hip Dysplasia CoverageBREEDER provides a 2-year warranty against testable genetic health disorders known at the time the Dog was born.Hip Dysplasia Warranty: 2-year hip dysplasia warranty3.1 Hip Dysplasia Warranty RequirementsTo qualify, BUYER must provide official documentation from OFA and/or PennHIP showing the Dog’s microchip number on the report.Coverage applies only when all criteria are met:

  1. Dog is at least 12 months old.

  2. OFA grade is Moderate or Severe, OR PennHIP score is over 30% of breed average.

  3. Dog shows physical lameness.

  4. Veterinary specialist recommends corrective surgery.

Mild hip dysplasia without symptoms and without need for surgery is not covered. Radiographs taken before 12 months of age or within 2 months of a heat cycle are not accepted. BUYER must provide veterinary records, including the Dog’s weight and veterinarian assessment regarding body condition. BREEDER may confirm results prior to replacement or reimbursement.


4.Warranty Exclusions and Buyer ResponsibilitiesThis warranty does not cover conditions caused by mistreatment, injury, accidents, poisoning, obesity, underweight conditions, or environmental causes.BUYER agrees the Dog will not be over-exercised during growth and will not participate in high impact activity (including agility, repetitive jumping, or excessive running) during puppy development.This warranty applies only to the original BUYER.a.      Defect Claim ProcessIf BUYER suspects a hereditary defect:

  1. BUYER must provide BREEDER with a veterinarian report within 7 days of first complaint to BREEDER.

  2. BREEDER may request a second opinion (paid by BREEDER).

  3. If the Dog dies, necropsy and release of records are required.

If BREEDER determines a hereditary defect exists that clinically impacts quality of life, BUYER may choose 1 remedy:

  1. Replacement Dog of equal or greater value (BREEDER has up to 18 months), OR

  2. Reimbursement up to 50% of the purchase price (excluding shipping/transport).

BUYER may choose only 1 option.


4.1 Conditions Not Covered (Common/Non-Genetic Issues)This warranty does not cover common, non-genetic conditions or routine puppy illnesses, including but not limited to: viral illnesses (parvo, distemper, kennel cough), parasites (giardia, coccidia, worms), ear or eye infections, stress colitis/diarrhea, skin or food allergies, hypoglycemia, innocent/low-grade murmurs, UTIs, hernias, bite alignment issues, cherry eye, entropion/ectropion, patellar issues/loose knees, IVDD/CDDY, ACL tears, or any condition determined to be environmental, preventable, or non-testable.This warranty also does not cover:

  1. Cancer, Epileptic, or complex conditions not detectable by genetic testing.

  2. Breed percentages or breed panels.

  3. Temperament, size, markings, color intensity, coat type, shedding level, adult weight, height, conformation, or show potential.

  4. Illness due to ingestion of foreign objects, chemicals, food toxins, or injury.

If the Dog is euthanized, surrendered, or otherwise disposed of without prior notice to BREEDER and without providing veterinary records and details of the situation upon request, BUYER waives any right to replacement or reimbursement under this agreement. BREEDER reserves the right, at BREEDER’s sole discretion, to request a second opinion. This provision does not require BUYER to delay emergency treatment.


3.6 No Refunds / Medical ExpensesBREEDER is not responsible for veterinary expenses after the Dog leaves BREEDER care. No refunds will be given. Warranty applies only to the original BUYER.


3.7 Neglect and Improper CareBREEDER will not provide replacement if the Dog experiences heat stroke, abuse/neglect, accidental death, theft, sickness due to lack of vaccinations, or improper socialization.


3.8 Discontinuation of Breeding ProgramBREEDER may discontinue breeding at any time. In that event, replacement obligations under this agreement may be discontinued.


3.9 Transport LiabilityBREEDER is not responsible for injury or death due to negligence or carelessness of BUYER, airline, transporter, carrier, or their employees/agents.


3.10 Rehoming PolicyIf BUYER is unable to keep or care for the Dog at any time during the Dog’s life, BUYER agrees to notify BREEDER immediately. BUYER understands the Dog may not be surrendered, sold, given away, or transferred to any shelter, rescue, pet store, breeder, dealer, research/testing facility, or any third party without BREEDER’s prior written approval.Boxwood Doodles will, at its sole discretion, assist with rehoming the Dog. BUYER agrees to cooperate fully with the rehoming process, including providing current veterinary records, vaccination history, microchip information, grooming history, behavioral information, and any other relevant details requested by BREEDER. BUYER agrees to disclose any known bite history, aggression concerns, training issues, anxiety, reactivity, or other behavioral concerns.BUYER agrees that if return of the Dog to Boxwood Doodles is required, all shipping, transportation, and travel expenses shall be the responsibility of BUYER unless otherwise agreed in writing by BREEDER.BUYER understands and agrees that rehoming is not a return or refund, and no full or partial refund of the original purchase price is guaranteed. If the Dog is successfully rehomed, BREEDER may return rehoming proceeds to BUYER minus the original deposit, a minimum rehoming/handling fee of $1,500, and any expenses incurred by BREEDER, including but not limited to quarantine, veterinary care, parasite treatment, grooming, boarding, training, advertising, and transportation.


4. BUYER REPRESENTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESBUYER agrees:4.1 BUYER has researched the breed and grooming requirements.4.2 Dog will live with BUYER as a companion pet.4.3 Dog will be kept safely in an enclosed area and will not roam freely.4.4 Dog will not be permanently chained, tethered, or kenneled.4.5 BUYER will provide quality nutrition and veterinary care, including deworming, heartworm prevention, and vaccines (including rabies).4.6 BUYER is not purchasing as an agent for another person/business.4.7 BUYER will not transfer Dog to pet shops, dealers, breeding operations, shelters, or research/testing facilities.4.8 BUYER understands the Dog is sold without breeding rights and agrees not to breed the Dog.


5. ALTER AND REPRODUCTION CLAUSE5.1 Spay/Neuter Required by 12 MonthsBUYER agrees to alter the Dog by the Dog’s 1st birthday. BUYER must email proof from a veterinary hospital showing the Dog description, breed, and microchip number by 12 months of age.If Dog is not altered by 12 months, BUYER agrees to pay liquidated damages of $5,000, due within 30 days of Dog turning 12 months old.5.2 Medical DelayIf the procedure must be delayed, BUYER must provide written statement from veterinarian indicating Dog is not yet ready and providing earliest eligible surgery date. BUYER must notify BREEDER in writing.5.3 No Breeding RightsThis Dog is sold as “Pet Quality” without breeding rights.If Dog is bred by natural breeding or artificial insemination:

  1. BUYER agrees to pay BREEDER $10,000 in liquidated damages and BREEDER may reclaim the Dog.

  2. BUYER owes BREEDER a minimum of $2,000 per puppy.

  3. DNA parentage testing, if needed, is at BUYER expense.

  4. All warranties in this contract become null and void.

5.4 Responsibility for Unauthorized BreedingBUYER assumes full responsibility for any defects or outcomes due to unauthorized breeding.5.5 Legal CostsIf enforcement becomes necessary, BUYER agrees all legal costs will be the responsibility of BUYER.


6. RESPECTFUL COMMUNICATION CLAUSE (NON-DISPARAGEMENT)Both parties agree to communicate respectfully and in good faith. The parties agree not to publish objectively disparaging statements, not to make knowingly false claims, and not to harass or intimidate the other through messages, posts, emails, calls, or other communication. If concerns arise, BUYER agrees to contact BREEDER directly first to allow an opportunity for resolution.


7. BREACH AND ATTORNEY FEESIf either party breaches this agreement, the non-breaching party may pursue legal remedies as allowed by law. The prevailing party is entitled to reasonable attorney fees and costs.


By signing this agreement of sale, the buyer acknowledges having read this agreement entirely and agrees to all terms and conditions within this agreement.
